Presentation Abstract: At the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), Rapid DNA or Rapid DNA Analysis, describes the fully automated (hands free) process of developing a CODIS Core STR profile from a reference sample buccal swab. The FBI established their Rapid DNA Program Office in 2010 to facilitate the development and integration of Rapid DNA technology for use by law enforcement. This presentation will provide an update on the many advances in the FBI Rapid DNA program in the past year.
