The Blasters Training Committee develops the ISEE Blasters Training Seminar. Each year, the committee designs a new program to offer the most current information and training for field blasters and others concerned with the safe and secure use of commercial explosives. The program is offered in conjunction with the society’s Annual Conference on Explosives and Blasting Technique and provides the education program linked to the exhibit show. The program is designed to give blasters an opportunity to earn a certificate of attendance for the Training Seminar and an opportunity to learn more about the latest technology available in the explosives industry. Through its member network of experienced trainers, the program brings together facilitators who are recognized subject matter resources in the explosives industry and are experienced in blasting education and training. The program includes current information on technology, application and products that are necessary components to the skills used by field blasters. This annual program has been accepted by many states as meeting retraining and continuing education requirements that support state blaster’s licensing. Some states give ongoing approval because of the quality of the presenters, the program and the identification of ISEE’s commitment to quality education programs. Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming have accepted the ISEE Blasters Seminar for retraining/continuing education credits in the past. Abstracts of the presentations for 2018 and biographies of the presenters are provided below. Each facilitator uses PowerPoint presentations supported with workbooks that summarize the presentation. There is question and answer time available during the program sessions and facilitators make themselves available for discussion throughout the program.
