Panel: Provider Optimization: The Use of CMAs, LPNs and Scribes - What Is Best for Your Practice? (Room Wabash)

Electronic health records (EHRs) and the need for more detailed documentation have resulted in increased time to capture information – electronic or otherwise. The time providers spend during a patient visit capturing and entering data rather than focusing on the patient can be a hindrance to the quality of care. Solutions gaining popularity include the use of CMAs, LPNs and scribes. CMAs, LPNs and scribes can augment the physician’s time to focus on the patient, ultimately impacting the overall quality of healthcare delivery. This session will explore some of the real experiences, benefits and challenges of the use of CMAs, LPNs and scribes within the ENT practice setting. After discussion of different scenarios, you will leave with a better understanding on what would work best for your practice.
