Engagement Theater Session 2: "Cyber Quest" (Room Olmstead A/B)

  • Cyber and Electronic Warfare (EW) operational forces lack sufficient capabilities to meet the growing threat in these warfare disciplines. Cyber Quest is an annual prototyping experiment to address concept and capability gaps for Signal, Cyber and EW areas of need. This thread will help outline what was learned during 2016 and the impact of that learning. This session will then outline what we will be working on in 2017. This session will help set the stage with vendors to go after some of our remaining critical operational gaps.

 

  • Lessons Learned – 2016 (1hr)
    • Target audience (2016 Vendors/2017 Vendors + (CDID) CBL/TCM/CAD/RID

 

  1. Cover goals, vision, intent and expected outcomes from Cyber Quest 2016
  2. Discuss how we will improve or could have improved the 2016 execution and event
  3. Discuss the primary concepts under evaluation and how these concepts assisted in execution of the Cyberspace Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA) Cell at the Infantry Brigade Command Team (IBCT)
  4. Cover major lessons learned from Cyber Quest 2016
  5. Importance of the findings to the introduction of Cyber and Electronic Warfare (EW) to the tactical edge

 

              

  • Vision for CQ 2017 – (1hr)
    • Target audience (2017 Vendors and interested vendors that have responded or want to respond to BAA + (CDID) CBL/TCM/CAD/RID

 

  1. Cover goals, vision, intent and expected outcomes for Cyber Quest 2017
  2. Discuss how Cyber Quest 2017 will be different from Cyber Quest 2016
  3. Discuss the primary concepts under evaluation and how these concepts will assist in Army echelons in a Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF) construct
  4. Discussion with Cyber Focal representation on complimentary efforts and how those efforts and Cyber Quest will collaboratively answer warfighter requirements

 

  • Industry Day for CQ 2017/ BAA Review and Discussion (4hr)

 

  1. Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) review and discussion to ensure that the BAA is clear from a purpose, intent, context and desired outcomes
  2. Discuss the specific requirements, timeline, and expected deliverables
  3. Discussion with the TCMs, applicable Program Managers (PM), Operational Forces
