Staffing Firm and Host Employer Responsibilities for Temporary Worker Safety "NEW" (Room 201B)

In 2013, OSHA launched its Temporary Worker Initiative, stating that host employers and staffing agencies share responsibility for complying with requirements intended to ensure temporary worker safety and health. In this session, we’ll review a fictional case study, created jointly by the American Staffing Association and the National Safety Council and using OSHA’s actual citations as a guideline. You’ll learn practical information that allows staffing agencies and host employers to better understand who is responsible for training, hazard communication, and reporting and recording temporary worker injuries. We’ll also discuss best practices for protecting temporary workers as outlined in the new Safety Standard of Excellence program—a joint effort of ASA and NSC.
