The unthinkable has happened. A gunman shot and killed his estranged wife in your building - and then turned the gun on himself. The rumor mill is running rampant - tenants are talking about an "active shooter." There are reporters outside looking for someone from the building to comment about the situation. And, since you aren't there, the media is asking questions to tenants, the security guard, and anyone else who is in the area. There is a heavy police and fire department presence on site. And, to top it off, social media channels are buzzing about the incident - with a lot of incorrect information. Hardly a typical day for a real estate manager. What you say (and how you say it) is important. In this session, we will explore best practices in crisis communications - both internally and externally - even if you are not supposed to speak on behalf of your company or client.
