Pet charity organizations include Pet Peace of Mind, which trains human hospice providers how to meet the pet care and re-homing needs of their terminally ill patients. The program is provided to free of charge; and in addition to the specialized training and ongoing advice they receive, hospice providers receive start-up funding to help with pet care expenses, including pet food.
