The 2019 Pool & Spa Show

National Plasterers Council (NPC) Pool Start Up Certification (Room 309)

28 Jan 19
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Tracks: Certification

The swimming pool finish is the last to be done, but the first for the customer to see when they enter the pool. Protect the finish by starting it right the first time, every time. NESPA is proud to present, in conjunction with the National Plasterers Council (NPC), this certification program for those industry members who ”start-up” the water chemistry and care for newly constructed or refinished plaster pools.

The National Pool Industry Research Center (NPIRC), has identified one critical issue: how one treats a newly surfaced pool in the first 30 days can determine how durable the surface will be over its lifetime. This daylong program will certify an individual in the NPC industry method of properly starting up the water chemistry and care of a newly surfaced swimming pool and/or spa.

The course will cover five primary areas:  The History and Chemistry of Swimming Pool Surfaces  Understanding Water Chemistry Using a Water Test Kit Effectively Start-Up Procedures  Pool Surface Start-Up Problems and Solutions

The price includes the course:  NPC Tech Manual, 2 reference manuals, Start-Up Cards and lunch. The program will conclude with a test on  proper methods of testing water and a sixty minute written exam.

Attendees are required to provide their own water testing kit.

This course requires separate registration and is not included as part of the 4 day technical pass.
