 In this meeting there will be an update by Dr. Tim Gottwald (USDA-ARS) on his research to develop models that will quantify the phytosanitary risk reduction associated with seed company QM practices and a presentation by Dr. Ron Walcott on novel approaches being developed to treat seeds for seed transmitted pathogens. In addition to discussions on the status and future of the draft international seed standard and Brazil’s new normative for research and breeders seed (NI 52), USDA APHIS will discuss its new ReFreSH (regulatory framework for seed health) initiative and the process by which it will be developed.
