Video games have been played and enjoyed by kids and adults alike for decades. One particularly stimulating and engaging aspect of these video games is the visually stunning and complex open-world environments in which these adventures take place. In addition to being fun, recent scientific research suggests that the exploration of these open-world environments may provide specific cognitive benefits to our brain. This session will discuss current research with video games and how this relates to the underlying neural biology of our brains.
