The Internet of Things (IoT) is a technology phenomenon of unimaginable scale that is exploding into our world and will be imbedded in anything and everything. Several tens of billions of smart, interconnected sensors will be imbedded into homes, office buildings, factories, transportation, utilities, clothes, etc. These sensors will enable us to sense all kinds of information such as temperature, pressure, motion, velocity, and acceleration. These sensors will generate untold amounts of data of scales similar to Google databases. The world of the IoT will disrupt and redefine our lives and worlds in totally unanticipated ways, While it will offer significant conveniences; it will offer unlimited opportunities for cyber criminals. This presentation explores some of these opportunities and threats.
