The Defense Information Systems Agency's (DISA) is using a multi-pronged approach for cloud computing capabilities in the DoD. The ultimate goal is to deliver assured cloud computing services, capable of dynamically responding to rapidly evolving mission partner requirements. DISA's approach is driven by the desire to maximize economies of scale, through the deployment and sustainment of a decoupled and modular service offerings, reducing cost of IT ownership across the department.

milCloud 2.0 is an Acquisition of Services (AOS) contract, which will provide commercial cloud capabilities from DoD facilities (on-premise private Infrastructure-as-a-Service cloud computing).

The Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA) is a suite of enterprise-level services, tailored to meet the unique functional, operational, and managed security requirements of on and off premise cloud computing in the DoD.
