Our national security is inextricably dependent on space-enabled capabilities. However, space is no longer the "sanctuary" that it was once thought to be. Our space capabilities are facing advanced, demonstrated, and evolving threats. Consistent with our understanding of the new strategic space environment, the FY17 PB continues the investments within the Space mission areas that were introduced in FY16, and continues the transformation of our next programs of record through more survivable and resilient architectures.
