Keynote Address: "Out-Thinking and Out-Innovating Our Cyber Adversaries" (Room Keynote Area, Exhibit Hall)

As the Joint Functional Component Commander for Global Strike Command, US Strategic Command, Maj Gen Vander Hamm was instrumental in orchestrating multi-domain solutions--leveraging air, space, and cyberspace capabilities--to address operational challenges of the geographic combatant commands. The cyberspace domain is foundational to the Air Force's core missions and must be defended for mission assurance purposes; but it also offers unique opportunities to hold both state and non-state adversaries' centers of gravity at risk, at a fraction of the cost associated with conventional systems, and with less physical risk placed upon the Joint Force. Cyber is the battlespace of the coming era, and in order to best-protect and best-leverage the medium, the Air Force must partner with US industrial, civilian, academic, and key partner nations to out-think and out-innovate its adversaries.
