ISR - Session 2: "Game Changer - Revolutionizing ISR Training to Meet the Needs of Today's Airman" (Room Theater Two, Exhibit Hall 1)

23 Mar 16
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Tracks: ISR Track

ISR training has been based on route memorization of language, numbers, slides and film.  Airmen were often educated on ISR principles, but seldom trained to meet the demands of their first assignment.  Today, millennial spend 14.5 hours/day of some time of electronic device…IPads, Smart Phones, Tablets.  ISR training must change to educate and train the next generation of Airman.

  • Evolutions of Warfare- Desert Storm to GWOT and impact on training—Fighters to RPAs
  • Discuss the evolution of ISR training - light tables, film, 35mm slide, Route memorization
  • Development of new techniques to meet today’s Airman
  • MAGIC-Mobile Apps & Games, Live Virtual Constructive Integrated Training Environments, advanced combat Exercises, Multimedia Instruction, and Simulations

Education and Training is transforming. The evolution of technology allows Airmen to see, feel and better understand ISR concepts prior to their first assignment. New technologies provide Just-in-Time training inside/outside the classroom in formats more conducive to meet the needs of today’s Airman.
