Injection Technology
In order to successfully operate an EAF, a steelmaker must constantly look for ways to optimize the process in order to stay ahead of competition by maximizing efficiency. This can be done by increasing the productivity, adapting to raw material market conditions and costs of other inputs in the furnace. This paper will discuss three vastly different projects where steelmakers were seeking better performance of their EAFs and achieved it by implementing the Primetals injection technology and know-how. Specifically, the process data will be presented in the before and after scenarios, and a brief description of what differentiates the RCB from other products. The paper will further elaborate the challenges of an injection technology and how to overcome them during implementation. Injection technology is shown to enhance the flexibility of an EAF.
