What is the project? How is it defined? How is it developed? How are things put in motion? This paper will focus on a project approach from the position of a maintenance engineer and explain the basics of developing a scope of work, laying out a schedule and creating a budgetary cost using rules of thumb, general knowledge and whatever other resources might be available. A hot strip mill table replacement will be used as a case study to show the basic project steps that are taken.
