Tracks: Control

In recent work at the University of Pittsburgh, it was determined that a method for control of the tandem rolling of hot metal sheet is quite effective in improving the quality and yield of the final product. Upon further investigation, it has been determined that such an improvement has led to the potential for a significant reduction of production costs and the savings of energy due to the improvement in quality and yield. This paper shows how control upgrades using a new controller can improve the quality and yield of domestic plants and thus result in a significant reduction in costs and savings in energy.
