Shougang’s ironmaking technological developing status and progress are introduced in this paper. The advanced 500-m2 sintering machine and 504-m2 traveling grate induration pellet production line for raw material agglomeration are adopted to realize the optimization of blast furnace burden composition. The large battery coke oven technology is applied to improve coke quality and to meet the requirements of the 5,500-m3 blast furnace operation. A series of advanced technologies is researched and applied, such as beneficiated burden material, burden distribution and control, high blast temperature, prolonged blast furnace campaign life, gas dry dusting and environmental protection. Significant achievements have been achieved.
