Market change is underway as building owners, designers, and building product manufacturers respond to a growing awareness of the impact of material selection on human and environmental health. Similar to the food industry, transparency has become critical in paving the way for healthier choices and transparency — product and building certification systems such as Declare, Cradle to Cradle, LEED, WELL, etc. are revealing the impacts of chemicals in building products and motivating design teams to be more and more discerning.  

 

How can hospitality projects address health and wellness through material choices? How are manufacturers working with their supply chains to address these growing customer demands and which certifications are proving to be the most valuable? In this session, Ashley will share the challenges, opportunities, and lessons learned from experience working with both project teams and product manufacturers, including highlights from projects and products that have achieved best practices and received various forms of certifications for material and environmental health.
