Moderator: Darrel S. Brodke, MD

Patient reported outcomes are widely utilized in clinical spine research today.  There is a strong push to use them in day-to-day patient care, and CMS has made collecting outcomes a priority. This symposium focuses on using PRO measures for patient care and research, and how to meet national reporting standards.

Upon completion of this symposium, participants should gain strategies to:

  • Describe the standard options for PRO use in research and practice and their value;
  • Recognize how PROMIS measure work and their value;
  • Learn how to functionally incorporate them into practice;
  • Define future role of PROs in mandatory reporting standards.
