Many counseling professionals dread working with parents. This is partly because parents can easily feel vulnerable and become defensive. Fortunately, there are a number of key counselor attitudes, strategies, and skills for managing parent defensiveness. This LI is designed for counseling professionals who work directly with parents. Attendees will learn specific strategies for how to exert a positive influence on parents—and how to help parents become a more positive influence in the lives of their children.
