This LI affords an opportunity to learn and experience the basics of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Didactic, interactive, experiential, multimedia, and metaphor are used to train attendees on the basic model of ACT that stresses that people are stuck due to psychological inflexibility, rather than “broken” as more medically based models of counseling argue. The LI will teach basic concepts, models, and techniques and will illustrate each with sample interventions.
