This LI will focus on the state of antidepressants in our nation. Providing a foundation in the neurobiological underpinnings of depressive symptoms, the content will focus on antidepressant classifications, hypotheses related to antidepressant efficacy and lack thereof, ethical and cultural considerations, and the medication consultant role. Case studies will help to synthesize materials and guidelines will help counselors develop techniques for integrating the medical model into counseling.
