Transpersonal experiences (TEs) involve the transcendence of the usual personal limits of space, time, and/or identity; they include well-researched phenomena such as near-death experiences, after-death communication, and past life memories. Despite the positive developmental potential of TEs, research indicates that many clients with TEs who disclosed them in counseling felt harmed by their counselors’ responses. Attendees will learn about TEs and how best to work with clients who have had them.
