Intimate partner violence (IPV) describes any form of physical, sexual, and/or emotional/psychological abuse between partners in a current or former intimate relationship. This LI will provide information that counselors need to understand in order to work safely and effectively with clients impacted by IPV. Attendees will learn the dynamics of IPV, as well as research-based, trauma-informed guidelines for clinical assessment and counseling interventions.
