Dust System Design (Room POD 1)

27 Feb 17
1:45 PM - 2:30 PM
Many dust collection system are not currently operating to design standards; they have been changed or added to over the years.  In this session, interact with a simple ducting system and use instrumentation to measure the air flow in different branches of the system.  This exercise will demonstrate the effects of changing the air flow in one branch, and show how a change on one can adversely affect the performance of the whole system.  Attendees will learn to measure air flow, adjust blast gates, and even take actual airflow measurements before and after the blast gates have been adjusted.
