Measuring Air: How and Why (Room POD 1)

27 Feb 17
10:30 AM - 11:15 AM
In this session, learn how to use an air measuring kit to measure the static pressure and velocity pressure of your system. We will be using a small, self-contained fan unit (110V), complete with ducting and dampers. Discover what happens with varying fan speeds and damper settings, and realize how it relates to dust control or pneumatic conveying systems at a facility. Measuring air to determine CFM and velocity in a system at any grain facility is important for collection systems operating effectively and efficiently. Knowing how to properly do air readings provides improved product quality, extended equipment life, saves energy, reduces emissions, reduces housekeeping and increases overall safety.
