This session explores how an arc-rated clothing program can enhance electrical safety. The anatomy of an arc flash, non-FR clothing and body burn, pending revisions to NFPA 70E, FR clothing performance, and how to create an arc rated clothing program with emphasis on task based vs. daily wear and cost/return on investment will be discussed. The cost of FR is obvious and easily quantified, but the actual and potential savings are generally hidden and more difficult to quantify.
