2017 Annual Meeting &Exposition

801. Pre-Conference: The New HHCoPs: Everything You Need to Know (Room 104AB)

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued a final rule the implements significant changes to Home Health Conditions of Participation (HHCoPs). The rule expands the standards for patient rights, care planning, and care coordination, and includes two new CoPs — one for a quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) program and another for an infection control program.

Many of the revisions will present significant process, operational and cultural changes for agencies.

Home health agencies (HHAs) must meet the Medicare HH CoPs in order to participate in the Medicare program. Agencies that fail to meet any of the HH CoPs are at risk, at a minimum, for the imposition of a number of sanctions and potentially at risk for program termination.

Mary Carr, NAHC’s Vice President for Regulatory Affairs, and a panel of experts will be leading an all-day, in-depth analysis of the new CoPs for Home Health.  Learn how to be compliant with these updated health and safety standards.
