Everyone is aware of the massive shift our workforce is undergoing as we speak…aging baby boomers are retiring, more women than men are graduating from college and post graduate programs and technology has changed how Gen Y and Millenials work and expect to work. So…? Why should we care? Because our customers are changing more rapidly than our own industry. And customers like to buy from people who look like them and act like them. Can we change? Of course, and we are changing, but its more than just hiring good people, its creating a culture that allows for hiring and recognizing talent and being sought out by both potential employees and potential customers. How? Introspection is the first task…who are we? Strengths, weaknesses and blind spots. Know what prospective employees are looking for and be unwavering in your pursuit of talent and the culture to keep them.
