By 2020, billions of IoT devices will be connected to the Internet, from wearables and smart appliances to connected cars and smart cities. Sensors and embedded systems are changing the way in which humanity interacts with and observes the universe. In order to make the IoT a reality, developers must overcome challenges such as sensor interface, data processing, low power design and most importantly, securing their devices. Securing an embedded system is not a trivial endeavor and possibly one of the most neglected and least understand areas of development. This workshop will provide technical knowledge and tools to help attendees understand the importance of securing their embedded sensor systems, and will feature a live demonstration on how to hack such a system.
