Sensors & Embedded Systems Design
During this hands-on session, attendees will live-build a sub-GHz RF sensor node using modular hardware and open-source software. Ultimately, each participant will create a wireless node that sends sensor data to a central Wi-Fi gateway that aggregates the individual’s data and pipes it to the cloud using MQTT, enabling visualization, remote notification and data logging.
ATTENDEE BENEFITS & TAKEAWAYS:
- Build a complete end-to-end IoT sensor application & will be introduced to fundamental components of an IoT application, from the node to the gateway & ultimately the cloud.
- Learn about MQTT, a light-weight messaging protocol ideal for IoT sensor networks. MQTT is supported by many cloud services, enabling customers to choose the one for their needs.
- See the importance of the cloud in sensor applications. We will enable live sensor visualization in a browser, trigger remote notifications (SMS, email, tweets) & datalog sensor readings.
