The Houston Gospel Choir is a group of friends connected by their love for people and music. As each of these individuals endured Hurricane Harvey, they realized that there were many others more deeply impacted and began to serve individually. With a true desire to be boots on the ground, Marquist Taylor and Victoria White worked to find a shelter that would allow them to come and sing in an effort to bring joy and hope to evacuees. The Conroe Expo Center took them up on their offer and from a 20 minute, spontaneous, acapella presentation, the Houston Gospel Choir was born. They have since made appearances on Good Morning America, CNN, The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, and the Hand in Hand Celebrity Telethon. The group is grateful for each opportunity to spread love and hope through the gift of song.
