Pets are increasingly being considered as four-legged humans, from their hairstyles and clothing to their food and supplements. This "humanization" of pets does not appear to be going away anytime soon and increasingly influences the types of foods that pet parents choose. It is important to consider whether humanization is really in the pets' best interest, especially when it comes to food and nutrition. This presentation will discuss the differences in nutrient requirements between dogs, cats and humans as well as hot trends in the food industry and implications for pet health.
