The IAAPA Institute for Attractions Managers is an intensive two-and-a-half-day program is designed for industry professionals with two to five years of management experience, including vice presidents, directors, managers, department heads, and supervisors who want to expand their industry knowledge and advance their career. The institute is a blend of classroom instruction, case study, class work, and field work. Attendees will receive a detailed workbook for each course with additional references and online support material. Develop a solid understanding of the key disciplines and processes required to manage a successful attraction.

The institute will cover the following five core subject areas:

  • Attractions Finance: capital, expense, and revenue budgeting and other financial tools
  • Attractions Marketing: public relations, media relations, advertising, group sales, and marketing
  • Attractions Leadership: human resources development strategies
  • Facility Operations and Safety: industry regulation, best practices in facility management, and crisis management
  • Attractions Revenue Operations: food and beverage, merchandise, games, and other revenue-generating operations


IAAPA CERTIFICATION: 16 credit hours

Sunday, Nov. 13: 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m . (Room S331AB) – Class Work and Networking Reception
Monday, Nov. 14: 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. (Room S331AB) – Class Work and Lunch and Learn
Tuesday, Nov. 15: 8:30 a.m-2 p.m. (Room S331AB) – Field Experience

FOOD AND BEVERAGE: Daytime meals and refreshments. 

NOTES: Separate ticket and Expo badge required for entry.

Institute Fee Includes: IAAPA Attractions Expo registration for one, course tuition and support materials, daytime meals and refreshments (includes the Lunch and Learn event 12-2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 16), Sunday evening social, reserved seating at the Kickoff Event, the off-site experience, and a certificate of completion.  Must be 18 or older to attend; 21 or older to consume beer or wine.

COST: US$599 IAAPA members; US$799 nonmembers. Tickets should be purchased in advance as space is limited and may sell out.
