IAAPA Attractions Expo 2016

IAAPA Human Resources Symposium – Making Every HR Experience Matter (Room S331CD)

Tuesday, Nov. 15: 8 a.m.-7 p.m.

The IAAPA Human Resources Symposium is an intensive one-and-a-half-day program that examines current human resources practice in the attractions industry. The focus is on organizational development with particular emphasis on how to sustain, manage, or change a company culture in a busy attraction.

Through multiple experiences and presentations, participants gain extensive knowledge and insight about how to drive a positive culture in their own organizations.  Attendees can share their challenges and triumphs with a group of like-minded, people-focused professionals. Every experience matters for every employee, so every experience must be examined to develop a winning company culture.

Key topics that will be addressed include:

  • Crucial elements of building a world class culture.
  • The importance of developing strength within the leadership team.
  • Strategies to encourage frontline engagement with guests.
  • Universal Orlando Resort’s approach to driving and sustaining culture.

The program consists of classroom study sessions and a behind the scenes look at how Universal Orlando Resort approaches creating and maintaining their culture. Participants will also attend the IAAPA Kick Off event as a group on Tuesday morning.

The symposium is intended for those who are currently in HR roles or hold a management or leadership position.
