Dr. Patricia Gabow, a consultant and the former CEO of Denver Health, will discuss the issues facing American healthcare including cost, access, quality, disparity and workforce dissatisfaction. She will make the case that LEAN’s core philosophy is aligned with the core philosophy of health care. LEAN offers a disciplined and structured approach to addressing the issues facing health care. She will demonstrate how Denver Health, a large integrated, safety net institution, utilized LEAN. This will include a discussion of the implementation approach, the tools used, and the management of metrics. She will provide examples of quality, cost, and employee engagement outcomes achieved in their LEAN journey. She will discuss the lessons learned in that journey. The session will allow time for audience questions.
