2015 INSS: Intelligence & National Security Summit

The State of U.S. Intelligence (Room Ballroom A)

U.S. Intelligence is an essential instrument of national power and perhaps has never been more powerful than today given advances in technology.  With that power comes great responsibility. In this session, the Director of National Intelligence will provide his assessment of the state of US Intelligence, with a particular focus on effectiveness and accountability today, and on what needs to be done to ensure both in the future.

Focus Questions:

In your over 50 years of work in and leadership of the Intelligence Community, how has the relationship with the private sector and the public changed?  Are those changes on balance positive or negative?

What capabilities must we invest in today to ensure the health of US Intelligence today and in the future?

As you contemplate your legacy as DNI, what work remains unfinished and what advice do you have for your successor?
