The more frequently a practice performs a service, the more essential it is to document it, code it and report it accurately. This presentation will describe the coding rules and concepts for high volume services performed by Otolaryngologists including reporting procedures with an office visit (cerumen removal and scopes), documenting the clinical indications for scopes, selecting the correct category of E/M code, reporting E/M services in the post op period with modifier 24 and reporting binocular microscopy. The session will include audit sheets for modifier 24 and 25, and a decision tree for selection of category of code of E/M services.
