Healthcare is in a mode of consolidation at the payer level, hosptial level and physician group practice level. It is important for groups to understand what are the drivers of consolidation and do these drivers apply to our group. This session will review the entire merger or integraton process, starting with goal setting. It will focus on establishment of the steering committee, identification of and discussion of the pros and cons of the various merger models, review of the physicians issues to be addressed, the operational issues to be addressed and the timeline for measuring a successful merger.
