In this session, Ms. Cook will identify and explain the most important legal compliance issues for the audience. These legal issues include the False Claims Act, which can be implicated for many reasons, including when a Medicare or Medicaid billing mistake is identified but reimbursements are not repaid in a timely manner. Ms. Cook will also explain the ability for a “whistleblower” (like a current or former employee) to file a claim and recover penalties under the False Claims Act as well as various other legal issues that practices frequently face.
