Bitcoin's block chain doesn't just enable the trustless exchange of bitcoins, it enables trustless exchange of any digital asset. We can even add logic to digital assets stored in a block chain, creating trustless smart contracts. Block chain technology will enable people to place bets without bookies, buy insurance without underwriters, access loans without banks, purchase commodities without brokers, create and enforce contracts without lawyers, create assets without issuers, secure escrow without agents, gain internet access without ISPs, verify records without notaries, and more. This presentation focuses on the goals of trustless computing and recent developments in the space.
