When you bring the contractor to the project early, what are the effects? Owners have traditionally viewed this as writing a blank check, but recent experiences with the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) methodology has shown that contractors can provide value with respect to assessing the constructability of the designsthat can reduce both costs risks. This session considers alternative delivery approaches to reduce change orders, allocate risk fairly and manage total budgets. Case histories for different contracting models will be examined and discussed.
