Tracks: Hotel Industry Workshop
Assessment of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) by use of cardiac markers such as Troponin I is now routine. Clinical practice guidelines were recently updated, and both labs and physicians need to be familiar with those newer guidelines. The first large clinical studies have been published evaluating the use of troponin in current medical practice, and these studies will be reviewed. Case studies will be presented on how labs were able to change their testing practices to align with the recent guidelines and clinical trial results.
