After this session, participants will be able to: 1) list the advances in mass spectrometry for organism identification in clinical microbiology; 2) describe the challenges for clinical microbiologists and clinical chemists related to infectious disease serologic testing on chemistry testing platforms; and 3) explain the basic principles of multiple reaction monitoring and of therapeutic drug monitoring.
