After this session, participants will be able to: 1) establish clinically relevant performance goals for laboratory methods; 2) evaluate performance of commercially available methods against those goals using studies practical for most clinical laboratories; 3) make objective, sound decisions about how to monitor and use the methods they select for the laboratory; 4) justify these decisions to superiors and other interested individuals; and 5) reference CLSI guidelines (EP5, EP9, EP15, etc.) for method verification protocols.
