The focus will be on HIV testing as it relates to the current recommended algorith. Past and current diagnostic screening tests and confirmatory (supplemental) tests will be indentifies to demonstrate how HIV tests have evolved into powerful tools to indentify HIV infection as early as possible. A description of the old and new testing algorithms will be described with the reasons behind the CDCs June 2014 recommendation. Various examples of reporting results from the testing algorith to the person or authority ordering the tests will be described.
