The most common causes of premature bearing failures can be attributed to lubrication. Whether it's a lack of lubrication, over-lubrication, using the wrong grease for the wrong application, or lubricant contamination, most bearings fail due to lubrication. This presentation will show how to use ultrasound to prevent over- and under-lubrication-related failures. Sound files will be used to allow the attendees to hear what a bearing sounds like while grease is applied. Information will also be presented on the cost savings associated with using ultrasound for condition-based lubrication of bearings.
