Generally, fluid volume measurement is simplified to level measurement, knowing the container’s geometry. However, in some cases (tank accelerated motion, or more complex movements), this premise cannot be applied. This work aims to determine the liquid volumes by the difference between the total volume of the tank and the air volume, which is estimated using acoustic parameters. Numerical and analytical models were developed using the parameters: reverberation time, frequency of acoustic modes and Helmholtz resonator frequency. A comparative analysis was performed in order to qualify each model. The next stage of research will develop a measurement system using the appropriate model.
